Our next hotel was in Sirmione, a picturesque city on a peninsula that stretches out into Lake Garda. It was interesting to visit Scaliger Castle, a fortification surrounded by water, from the city centre and then on a tour boat.
After walking around Scaliger Castle, which was built near the end of the 12th century, Doug and I decided it was time to have a glass of prosecco, a lovely Italian white wine.
When then got on a tour boat to see Scaliger Castle from Lake Garda, the largest of the Italian lakes.
