Superheroines

Mark, a long-time fan of Doug's work, purchased the 11 x 17 original of Mary Jane Watson.

Kara had Doug do a pencil sketch of Supergirl, her favorite superheroine.

Before a staff member picked up Doug's donation for the 5th annual C2E2 charity auction (Saturday evening, March 19th), Kara's father looked at the 11 x 17 Poison Ivy watercolor original . . . he came back to Artist Alley Sunday morning to tell Doug he was the winning bidder!

The 2016 charity auction raised $18,230.00 to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Terry commissioned a 10 x14 pencil sketch of Power Girl, a DC Comics superheroine, who first appeared in All Star Comics #58/January-February 1976.

(I took the photo after I wrapped the original with tracing paper.)

Pencil Portrait Sketch

Dave commissioned Doug to do a 16 x 20 pencil portrait sketch of his wife Shaunna; they picked it up Sunday afternoon.  We first met Dave when Doug was a guest at the first C2E2, 2010.

Everyone Has Fun at C2E2!

Doug was a guest at the first C2E2 (2010) as well as in 2014 and this year; this is coordinated through Mike Negin, Artist Alley and Creator Coordinator/ReedPOP.  In addition to this responsibility, he also organizes the annual C2E2 charity auction, which raised $18,230.00 this year to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Typically we stay in contact with Mike by email so it was a nice surprise when he stopped by Artist Alley Saturday afternoon to say hello.

Artist Alley is also a popular area for cosplayers; Mike couldn't resist a photo op with friendly fowl from Malmey Studios, which has been building high quality movie props and custom-made costumes since 2010.
