Dark Horse Exhibits at C2E2 - Also SDCC

Dark Horse Comics, which published The Art of Doug Sneyd, has a retail booth at most major comics-cartoon conventions in the U.S., including both events sponsored by Reed Exhibitions - C2E2 and the New York Comic Con (October 9-12, 2014 at the Javits Center).

(The Art of Doug Sneyd, now in a second printing, is also available at the Dark Horse retail booth at SDCC, which closes at 5 p.m. today.)

If you already have a copy of the 248-page hardcover book and would like Doug to sign it - at no charge, visit us at the Big Wow Art booth at SDCC.

On the way to Artist Alley before the 3-day convention in Chicago opened to the public, Doug and I stopped at the Dark Horse booth to say "hello" to Kari, the convention retail sales manager.

Pencil Portraits at C2E2 - July 23-27 at SDCC

Doug's convention commissions include 10 x 14 and 16 x 20 pencil portraits.  He did several during C2E2 April 25-27, including Heather's 10 x 14.

Check the San Diego Comic-Con program for the location of Big Wow Art; Doug has exhibited with Steve Morger's group since 2007 and will again be taking pencil portrait commissions during the 5-day event at the San Diego Convention Center.

Chad wanted to surprise his girlfriend with a 16 x 20 pencil portrait, but the only photos he had were on his iPhone - not a problem as Doug is generally able to work with a good likeness.

Zatanna: 11 x 17 Watercolor Original

Doug is currently working on a number of superheroine watercolor originals; he just finished this 11 x 17 featuring Zatanna - rendered on Arches of France cold press art board using aniline dyes, the same materials he's used for his 450+ Playboy cartoons.

If attending SDCC Wednesday, July 23 (Preview Night) through Sunday, July 27, stop by the Big Wow Art group and see this new collection.

Please note:  due to the size of the artwork, instead of scanning it, the above is a photo of the original.
