Modena: Memorial to Pavarotti

Modena is generally associated with the production of specialty balsamic vinegars - although much of the balsamic vinegars on grocery store shelves, we learned, is produced outside Italy, imported and then bottled in Modena for distribution world-wide.

So Doug and I were pleasantly surprised that our first stop in Modena was at the grave memorial to Italian operatic tenor Luciano Pavarotti.  Unfortunately we never saw him perform live, but we do enjoy his music on CD.

After visiting the Pavarotti grave memorial in the above-ground Montale Rangone Cemetery, we then spent the afternoon at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello.
