Now that we're settled into my condo in Orange Beach for 5 months, Doug is beginning to get back to his drawing board, and while working, he frequently listens to audiobooks.
We've just started listening to The House of Mondavi: The Rise and Fall of an American Wine Dynasty by Julia Flynn Siler and Sin in the Second City by Karen Abbott.
While making the 1,300-mile drive to the Gulf Coast, we listened to The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama and Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer by James L. Swanson. We highly recommend both.

If Doug is still looking for audiobooks to listen to, you can download public domain books read by volunteers at librivorx.org. The quality varies but I found it a nice way to catch up on some of the classics.
Thanks for info on public domain books. Doug spends hours in his studio listening to them so this might be a fantastic site to check out. When we're in Orange Beach, Alabama, the local library is a great source; library resources in Orillia - which is about 80 miles north of Toronto - are quite limited when it comes to purchasing audiobooks. In fact, most of what is available there is on cassette so you can imagine the range of offerings.

I've discovered the Toronto Public library has a large selection of online ebooks for download as well. You need a library card to access the files though, and they last for 21 days. Does Doug have a friend in the city with a card they aren't using? That would give him access to another 1000 some odd books.
Doug has a library card from Orillia, Ontario. We'll have to check to see if this will allow him access to the Toronto system.
Thanks again for the info; hope you had a great New Year's Eve!
Best, Heidi
