Playboy Cartoon: September 2009

caption:  "If you don't think I'm right for this job, feel free to try me in any position you'd like."

Hef's approved - "OK H" in red pencil - loose-style gag rough, 8 1/2 x 11 on 24 lb. paper

The color rough (image area 6 x 7 1/2 on 140 lb. Arches of France cold press watercolor paper using Dr. Ph. Martin's aniline dyes) "tests" color selections before going to final art.

It's interesting to see changes Doug made in the color of the girl's skirt, both the guy's and girl's hair color, placement of the Sneyd signature, etc.

The full-page color cartoon was also reproduced on p. 140 (Chapter 8, The Younger Set) in The Art of Doug Sneyd, published by Dark Horse Books in July 2011.  The 248-page hardcover book, now also available in a softcover edition, features 270 of Doug's Playboy cartoons.
