Hampton Inn & Suites in Historic New Orleans Landmark Building

The Hampton Inn & Suites, a block from the Mississippi River and across the street from the Morial Convention Center, is partly housed in a historic converted cotton warehouse; the oil painting in the lobby depicts commerce (grain, coffee, cotton and produce) shipped through the port of New Orleans centuries ago.

We checked into the hotel (in the Arts & Warehouse District) January 7th - seeing both Christmas and Mardi Gras decorations in the side entrance on Gaiennie Street.

A few days later the lobby decorations celebrated Mardi Gras, when 2 million visitors typically come to the Crescent City for parties and parades in the French Quarter.

Wizard World artists and attendees shared the Morial Convention Center with a Mardi Gras ball on Saturday, January 9th.  Doug couldn't pass up the opportunity to hold the hand of a Mardi Gras Queen!
