The cover for the Holiday Anniversary Issue was done by Erte, an internationally acclaimed artist recognized for his Art Deco style.
The Playboy Interview (p. 49) featured Don Johnson, best known for his role as James "Sonny" Crockett in the 1980s TV series Miami Vice.
Later, he had the lead role in the 1990s cop series Nash Bridges; unfortunately, Blood & Oil, the ABC drama series which debuted this past September, has not been a success. Johnson played a ruthless oil tycoon in North Dakota, booming after the biggest oil discovery in American history.
Doug's full-page color cartoon appeared on p. 179 of the January 1987 issue as well as on p. 231 of The Art of Doug Sneyd - the 248-page hardcover book was published by Dark Horse Books in 2011.
