Before the doors opened daily at 9:30 a.m. for the 40th annual Comic-Con rush of fans, there's an eerie quiet to the San Diego Convention Center. The aisles are wide open, display cases full and interview couches empty - everything's ready for the fans, who have been walking, driving or riding trolleys and shuttles to line up at the entrances.
