Since all of Doug's preliminary work for Playboy cartoons is done by hand, his color rough originals can be attractively framed - as one collector did by also including a cartoon tearsheet and business card.
He recently sent us this photo of how he framed the color rough and tearsheet for the June 2000, p. 105 Playboy cartoon - also reproduced on p. 142 of The Art of Doug Sneyd (Dark Horse Books, July 2011).
caption: "No, silly, casual dress day is Thursday. Friday is casual sex day."
This is the color rough for the March 2001, p. 118 Playboy cartoon; notice Doug's decision to change the color of the car in the upper right and the salesman's hair color.
This is the color rough for the July 1998, p. 87 Playboy cartoon (also reproduced on p. 110 of The Art of Doug Sneyd); notice numerous changes from the color rough to the published cartoon.
