After exhibiting at
Comic-Con '08 for 5 days, it was fun to explore the Port of San Diego waterfront park and pause among the life-size statues waiting for a Bob Hope show to begin. Hope, who died in 2003 at the age of 100, stood proudly at a microphone during a 50-year career of entertaining U.S. military personnel from World War II to the Persian Gulf War.
The $1 million-plus memorial project was funded by the Port, the Bob Hope family, and Taffy Three, a Naval veterans group.
