Doug and I appreciated Kei and Bobby - from Imaginism Studios in Toronto - stopping by Big Wow Art for an early a.m. visit. We always enjoy hearing about their new projects and how Schoolism online courses and workshops have expanded.
Fifteen Schoolism online courses - including Gesture Drawing, Painting Creatures, Characters for Animated Films, and Environment Design - are currently offered; workshops are also expanding to a number of countries, including the U.K., Germany and Italy.
Doug and I met Bobby and Kei on an Air Canada flight to SDCC in 2007 and always look forward to talking with them at conventions. It's hard to coordinate our schedules, but sometimes we can even meet up for dinner - always fun!
After SDCC, we learned that the group's animated comic book app, Niko and the Sword of Light, hit #1 in over 30 countries in the "Kids ages 9-11" category. With this success, Bobby was approached by a number of major studios to option it for film and TV. A decision was made to work with Amazon and now Niko and the Sword of Light is one of five TV pilots being developed for Amazon Prime.
Congrats to everyone at Imaginsim Studios!!!
With doors opening to attendees soon, Kei and Bobby had to head back to the Schoolism booth and get ready for another busy day at SDCC.
