Playboy Gag Rough Reject: Wall Street Investing

Although USA Today recently reported ("Stocks Deliver Holiday High") that the stock market delivered investors a record close in time for Christmas, it's not always good news from Wall Street as Doug depicted in this cartoon gag rough reject.

Playboy Interview with Mike Nichols: June 1966 Issue

As 2014 comes to a close, newspapers, like USA Today, and TV news programs, like CBS Sunday Morning, have begun to pay tribute to news makers, celebrities, athletes, humanitarians, etc. who died this year.

Entertainment losses this year include Mike Nichols (1931-2014), remembered for his work as a film and theater director, producer, actor and comedian.  

He was the featured interview in the June 1966 issue of Playboy

California Drought: Doug's 1977 News Cartoon

For nearly 20 years, starting in the mid-1960s, Doug Sneyd news cartoons, distributed by the Toronto Star Syndicate, appeared daily in newspapers across North America.

While going through these single-panel cartoons recently, I came across this one, syndicated for May 1977 publication; it's unfortunately also relevant for the current historic drought conditions in California.
