St. Germain des Pres Historic Cafes

After attending Paris Deco Off, we decided to walk a few more blocks to check out 3 famous Left Bank cafes - all near St. Germain des Pres, the oldest church in Paris, originating in 542.

Les Deux Magots is famous for the patronage of celebrities such as Earnest Hemingway in the 1920s and 1930s.

In the 1950s, French intellectuals debated new philosophical ideas at Cafe de Flore.

After World War II, politicians congregated at Brasserie Lipp, across Blvd. St Germain from Cafe de Flore.
