Doug Stays Busy at 4-day Fan Expo Canada in Toronto

Although Mike lives in the U.S., he's a regular attendee at Fan Expo Canada and a fan of Doug's work.  He bought two 10 x 14 watercolor originals at the Toronto convention this year.

Doug and I met Tristan Risk at Fan Expo Vancouver in April; it was great that she stopped by the booth to say hello.

Karen (from Oakville, a suburb of Toronto) bought a 10 x 14 watercolor original as a birthday gift for her sister.

Doug frequently does commissions for other artists. Lar, an online cartoonist and exhibitor at Fan Expo Canada, had Doug do a 10 x 14 pencil portrait sketch.

Costumes always make conventions more interesting.

Doug's pencil portrait sketches are always popular with convention attendees; Janis (from Toronto) posed for an 11 x 17 portrait.

Karen, also from Toronto, asked Doug to do her pencil portrait sketch in The Art of Doug Sneyd.  Another request - she wanted bunny ears!!!

Dark Horse Exhibits at Fan Expo Canada

Dark Horse, the third-largest comics publisher in the United States, has a prominent retail presence at a number of the largest comics-cartoon conventions in the U.S. - including San Diego, New York, Chicago and Seattle so it was no surprise to learn the company would have a retail exhibit at Fan Expo Canada this year.

This was the company's first retail exhibit in Canada, and after the doors opened for the August 22-25 Toronto convention, Kari, in charge of coordinating convention retail sales, stopped by Doug's booth to say hello and set up a time for him to sign copies of The Art of Doug Sneyd

The 248-page hardcover book, published by Dark Horse, is now in a second printing and was a 2012 Eisner Award nominee in the Best Humor Publication category.

Dark Horse, known for such popular titles as Star Wars, Buffy and Hellboy, had a prime location and offered attendees an great selection of books and collectibles.

It was a busy 4 days for Kari and her staff.

Sales of The Art of Doug Sneyd Were Strong During Toronto Convention

Sales of Doug's 248-page hardcover book, nominated for a 2012 Eisner Award in the Best Humor Publication category, kept him busy during Fan Expo Canada.

Mike and David bought copies within the first hour of the 4-day convention;  Mary-Ann (from Calgary) also had Doug personalize the book with a pencil sketch of a classic Sneyd bunny.
