The Last Personalized Copies of Unpublished Sneyd

Audrey (from Orlando) works in a comic book store so many aspects of MegaCon were quite familiar to her and her friend Aaron.

MegaCon was the first comic-carton convention Michael and his son Danny (from Boca Raton, Florida) have attended; a personalized copy of Doug's 52-page book, Unpublished Sneyd, should be a great souvenir!

Artist Andy Price Still Has A 1989 Doug Sneyd Sketch

Artist Andy Price, also an exhibitor in Artist Alley at MegaCon, stopped by to meet Doug and show him a sketch Doug did for him in 1989, when Andy was an art student at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Arts in Dover, New Jersey.

As part of an art student assignment, Andy wrote Doug and asked about his work as a cartoonist. In addition to answering Andy's questions, Doug also sent Andy a small color sketch, which Andy still owns.

Doug Does Convention Sketches

In addition to sketches in Unpublished Sneyd, Doug also does commissioned ink sketches - on 9 x 12 acid-free, 140 lb. watercolor paper - while exhibiting at conventions; check out the Artist Alley program listing at this weekend's Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo for Doug's location if interested in having him do a commissioned ink sketch.

This is one of several commissioned ink sketches Doug did at MegaCon in Orlando, March 12-14.

***Daily blogs featuring more photos from MegaCon will begin Monday, April 19.***

An ink profile of a classic Sneyd girl-next-door - bunny ears are optional - is always a popular subject for a convention sketch.

Artist Andy Price, also exhibiting in Artist Alley at MegaCon, had Doug render (see lower left pictures) two of his "elf" characters (see lower right pictures).

Doug did several ink sketches - on 9 x 12 acid-free, 140 lb. watercolor paper - of MegaCon attendees.
